Ingredients:
1)1/4 cup Toor Dal water
2)4 cups of Tamarind juice
3)1 medium size,chopped Tomatoes
4)5-6 sliced small onions
5)4-5 Curry leaves
6)3-4 Chopped green chillies
7)1/4 tsp Mustard seeds
8)a pinch of Hing/asafoedita
9)1 tbsp Crushed Garlic,cumin & pepper corns
10)2 tbsp Rasam powder
11)1/4 cup Corriander leaves
12)Salt
Method:
1)Extract the pulp of lemon size tamarind by soaking it in 4 cups of hot water.
2)Add the toor dal water,crushed Garlic,cumin & pepper corns,hing,rasam powder & salt.mix it well and keep this mixture aside.
3)Heat the oil.splutter the mustard seeds.
4)Add Curry leaves,green chillies and onions.saute for few minutes.
5)Add tomatoes and fry till it becomes soft.
6)Add this to the mixture and bring it to boil for 6-7 mins.When u see bubbles starting to rise switch off the heat.
7)Garnish with corriander leaves.
8)Serve hot as a soup or with steaming hot plain rice and papads.
