Ingredients:
1)1/2 cup roasted vermicelli/semiya
2)1/4 cup sugar
3)3 cups milk
4)8-10 golden raisins
5)5-6 cashew nuts
6)1 whole cardamom pods
7)1 tbsp ghee
8)pinch of safforn strands(mixed in warm milk)
9)2 tbsp almonds(soaked & chopped thinly)
Method:
1)Boil milk and add roasted semiya slowly and keep stiring.
2)Add sugar,safforn milk and cardamom pods.Bring to boil.
3)When it reaches required consistency,turn off the gas.
4)In a shallow pan, heat ghee.Fry cashew nuts,raisins and almonds and add this to payasam.
5)Payasam is ready to serve.
Note:
1)If payasam turns thick add warm milk before serving.
